Nice to meet you, I'm Jay (my last name is pronounced 'Hine').  I’m a digital product designer with a background in physical product research and design, holding a B.S. in Product Design from the University of Cincinnati. I started my career designing tangible things, then brought those systems-thinking and research skills into the digital space.

        I’ve worked across industries including healthcare, medical devices, consumer products/services, defense, home security, and transportation. For the past ~5 years, I’ve worked at a Human-Machine Teaming–focused software company, designing custom enterprise tools for complex work environments.
        I believe strong products start with discovering the right problem—and applying a design process that’s appropriately adapted to the context, team, and constraints. No matter your background, I’ve learned there’s always a shared language when people frame and solve problems together.
